GAWTEC & YESS Webinar Series

Webinar Series

YESS and the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) are pleased to announce the GAWTEC webinar series.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, courses with international participants could not take place at the training centre in Germany. Therefore, GAWTEC established a webinar series in cooperation with the Young Earth System Scientists Community YESS and the WMO.

The GAWTEC webinar series aims to provide scientific keynote presentations on atmospheric composition given by experts in their field and to provide a platform for exchange and questions for people interested in atmospheric composition, especially early career researchers.

Second Edition: Reactive Gases

The GAWTEC webinar series aims to provide scientific keynote presentations on atmospheric composition given by experts in their field and to provide a platform for exchange and questions for people interested in atmospheric composition, especially early career researchers. Its first edition focuses on greenhouse gases and atmospheric composition measurements.

After the success of the first edition, YESS is co-organizing a second webinar series, focused on reactive gases. The webinar series will consist in 7 events between September and November 2021.

First Edition: Greenhouse Gases

GAW focuses on building a single coordinated global understanding of atmospheric composition, its change, and helps to improve the understanding of interactions between the atmosphere, the oceans and the biosphere. It coordinates high-quality atmospheric composition observations across global to local scales to drive high-quality and impact science while co-producing a new generation of research enabled products and services.

The GAWTEC webinar series aims to provide scientific keynote presentations on atmospheric composition given by experts in their field. Its first edition focuses on greenhouse gases and atmospheric composition measurements. 254 people from around the world took part in the sessions and the webinars were also recorded and uploaded on YouTube.
